One thing to keep in mind
lots of small simple things can add up to a substantial portion
of your bill. I found this to be true by replacing four lights in my garage. The old fixtures
were standard 100 watt incandescent lightbulbs and doing a little math lets us see
4 times 100 watts = 400 watts /hour
4 hours per day =1600 watts per day
30 days per month = 48,000 watts per month
48 Kw (Kilowatts) X $.16 per KWh =$7.68 per month total cost
12 (months) at $7.68 per month = Total yearly cost of $92.16
The new fixtures are 16 watt Fluorescent fixtures...
4 times 16 watts = 64 watts/hour (LESS than one old lightbulb!)
4 hours per day=256 watts per day
30 days per month = 7,680 watts per month
7.7 Kw (Kilowatts) X $.16 per KWh =$1.23 per month total cost
12 (months) at $1.23 per month = Total yearly cost of $14.76
Each month on my GARAGE alone I can save $6.45
"Whoopiedoo" you say?
what if we can find 9 other "garage" type items in my (or YOUR?) home
Does
saving $64.50 a month sound a little better?
If so, GO HERE to find out how you can start saving money right away!
By the way $64.50 X 12 = (drum roll) $774.00!!!
No small potatoes anymore!
